Get Your Finances in Order. Give yourself time to clean up your credit report which may contain mistakes.  Try to reduce your monthly debt obligations.  Set aside enough money for a downpayment and closing cost.

Before House Hunting, Get Pre-Approved. Save yourself the grief of looking at houses you can't afford and put yourself in a better position to make a serious offer when you do find the right house.

Get Professional Help.   The internet gives buyers unprecedented access to home listings, but most new buyers ( and many experienced ones) are better off using a professional agent.  Use a REALTOR who will have your best interest at heart.  One who will negotiate for you. One who is honest and trustworthy.  We will not tell you what you want to hear but what you nead to hear.
